?Moses who came down from Mt. Sinai?
(Exodus 34:29~35)

Introduction
Today, we have people who are participating in the Military Missions Conference worshiping together with us. Starting today, all churches must truly begin military missions. In today?s Scripture reading, we see that as Moses came down from Mt. Sinai, his face was radiant. It says that there was a light shining from Moses? face. We need to understand today?s Scripture reading. What must we do when we truly face a difficult situation? What must we do when we are faced with a very important task? What must we do when we are in front of making an important decision? Today?s Scripture reading is talking about that. We read all of chapter 34, but verse 3 gives us the answer. Not even the animals could eat, and all of the Israelites were fasting in prayer.

1. Fasting in prayer
Is there a way for us to see a different world without facing mishaps or problems? There is, and the method comes out in today?s Scripture reading. What kind of prayer must we pray in order to see a different world? First is fasting prayer. Ezra 8:21 records that when the Israelites were facing the greatest crisis, a fast was proclaimed by the Ahava Canal. Jeremiah 36:9 stated that when the Israelites had to make an important decision, all of them fasted. In Joel 1:14, they fasted. There is a record in Jonah 3:5 that when all the people of Nineveh fasted, disasters were driven out. The Bible speaks about fasting prayer as a means for us to see a different world without facing mishaps and problems. One of the best methods to making people into true human beings is a fast. 1 Samuel 7:6 speaks about a fasting prayer at Mizpah. Prayer is so important, but fasting prayer is so important. In addition, praying together and fasting together is so important. In life, there are too many times when hardships come with no fault of our own. Ephesians 6:12 says that Satan holds onto the rulers, the authorities, the leaders of the world. Each time the Israelites faced a hardship in the Old Testament, they gathered together, fasted, and prayed. Then in the midst of those incidents, a great crisis arose. The Israelites were taken captive. However, the greater crisis was that they tried to kill all of the Israelites. In Egypt, a law was decreed to kill all of the newborn Israelite babies. Then, another great crisis came in the time of King Xerxes, who had a high official under him by the name of Haman who tried to annihilate all the Jewish people. It was at this time that Queen Esther, who herself was Jewish, saved her people. At that time, all the people of Israel fasted for a period of three days. The Israelites were saved through the festival of Purim, and this festival was preceded by the fasting prayer of the Israelites. In addition, Matthew 4:2 shows that when Jesus was beginning his important ministry, he too fasted and prayed.

2. We must look at the fasting prayer of Moses (Exodus 34:3).
In the beginning of Exodus 34, it says that God took Moses to a quiet place and led him to fast. He commanded that not even the animals could graze in that place. In other words, he was not to be interrupted. In that place, Moses prayed 40 days while fasting. In addition, God commanded that Moses was not even to draw water. In other words, it means that he was to pray in complete faith. It was then that Moses? face began to shine radiantly. When Moses came back down before the Israelites, he had to wear a veil. Then, what must we consider today? All religions have fasting prayer. Then, what does this exactly indicate?

3. The mystery of the power of fasting prayer
In Acts 13:1~4, when Paul was going out as a missionary, he fasted and prayed. In Acts 14:23, when they were electing the elders, they fasted and prayed over them. The servants of the Lord and the church lay leaders have a commission to do fasting prayer and discover their commission before God. If we could have complete prayer, complete faith, and a complete nature, we would be able to see a different world, but since we can?t, we must enter into fasting prayer. Today, you must hold onto this covenant. When the church is facing an important work, there is a need for us to enter into fasting prayer. When church lay leaders are presented with an important time, there is a need for them to pray fasting prayer. Simply put, there is a need for you to experience God?s different world. May you receive this blessing. Right now, there are many important military men gathered here in worship with us. The elder who prayed for us today is also in a very important position. When Moses came down from Mt. Sinai, the fact that his face was radiant is not the issue; this just means that we need a separate strength. You must hold onto this as your covenant. Church lay leaders are continually arising. Do not lose hold of strength. There is a separate strength prepared for you in the midst of a different world. At the same time, our Remnants are walking down a distant road that appears so bleak; they need this strength. When two or three people who have the Gospel come together in prayer, God will do amazing things through them. What is more amazing is that every single time you do that, the answers will come all the more accurately. Especially all the military men gathered here today, if you want to do military evangelization, you must receive strength. If we want to save the unbelievers and save the world, we must receive strength and see a different world. It is not because we fast; it is that even if we just fast, God will begin His works. Then, there is something that is better than fasting. In Mark 2:17~18, Jesus did not consider fasting so important. He said to his disciples, ?I am with you right now, so there is no need to fast.?

Conclusion ? Fasting prayer that we can enjoy in the Gospel
There is another kind of fast that is just as important as this fast. We must all be able to see the same thing. When we look at the many different people, they are all living well, but in one area of their lives, they are all starving spiritually. When we are able to perceive this, it means that we have the Gospel. Starting now, without being noticed at all, see everything with the eyes of the Gospel. Then, you will be able to see everything with the time schedule of evangelism. Then, you must hold onto these two things and connect everything with 24-hour prayer. This is a greater thing than entering into fasting prayer. We are so overly consumed with other things that we cannot see God?s separate world. In your heart, you must have something different. You must realize that what this person needs the most is the Gospel. You must place that in your heart and pray. Everything you see with your eyes, you must connect with prayer. Joseph was sent as a slave. However, whether he was in the fields or in the house of Potiphar, he continued to pray. Then, God began to bless the household of Potiphar because of Joseph, and Potiphar recognized that, even to the point of confessing that Joseph was a man of God. This is the separate strength that Joseph had. You must absolutely have this separate strength as well. When other people look at you, you may appear to be just another soldier. David, too, was just a soldier. However, David had a different set of eyes. He realized that all people, including Saul, needed the Gospel. Everywhere David went, he prayed, and one day, the works took place through David of saving Israel. Honestly speaking, what is fasting prayer? It is cutting off the physical needs that we have and trying to receive spiritual strength. Frankly speaking, it just means that because we can?t understand what God has prepared for us, we should just starve a meal to think about what is more important than our immediate needs. Today, may you experience God?s different world. It absolutely exists. You do not need to worry at all. God has a separate strength for you. Hold onto that. I bless you in the name of Jesus that especially for our military members and members throughout the world, this may be the day upon which you receive new strength and open your eyes to see a new world.

<>
God, we thank You. Open our spiritual eyes today. Help us to realistically know the spiritual world. May we realistically have this spiritual strength. May we save the military and save our nation. May the works arise to break down the forces of darkness. May you give us the true strength of patriotism. More importantly, may this be the day upon which we ourselves receive strength. May you drive our all fatigue and disease. May all forces of darkness and unbelief crumble. May this be the blessed day when we receive great spiritual strength. In Jesus? name we pray. Amen.

?The originator of military missions?
(1 Samuel 17:41~49)

Introduction
After this Military Missions Conference, we must have all the churches prepare military missions anew; prepare headquarter trainings for the military servicemen; and have a more full-fledged system of support for military missions. The current state of affairs of our nation is the responsibility of both the progressive and conservative parties of our nation. Although serious results are wrought, everyone denies having any responsibility in the matter. In the face of this situation, the importance of military missions needs to be remembered. Even in the Bible, Moses, Joshua, and Caleb were fighting men. The 14 judges in the Bible were all soldiers. A man of great faith in the Old Testament, David, was a soldier as well. Then, we must consider today what we must do in order to do military missions. I will speak in reference to David. David had the eyes to see three time schedules.

1. David had a time schedule of enjoyment
In 1 Samuel 16:1~13, the great prophet Samuel came to David. Samuel anointed David with oil. This was not just your small event. The king was still on the throne, and the prophet anointed a new king. Then, at this time, what would Samuel have told David? Samuel probably told David about the Philistines?the nation that invaded Israel, took their possessions, seized their land, and attacked the men and women. Samuel also probably spoke about the origin and the background of the Ark of the Covenant. He also probably told David about the exodus of the Israelites. He probably told David the background of Exodus 3:18. This is the Gospel. He probably told David about the Offspring of the woman crushing the head of the serpent in Genesis 3:15. David held onto this message and developed his skills (Psalms 78:70~72). He held onto the message and prepared his faith and skill. He prepared all of the skills to overcome the lions and the bear. Now, we must remember that when God gives us His Word, we cannot fully comprehend. We just believe, but we don?t fully understand. The most important thing that David did is that he wrote psalms. From the Book of Psalms, David wrote 73 psalms. In other words, he was a man of the covenant who prepared his skill and faith, and he was a man of prayer. He constantly enjoyed scheduled prayer, to the extent of writing psalms. He enjoyed continuous prayer enough to prepare the ability to fight off the wild animals. He had the mystery of concentrated prayer. Do not be deceived. You must start three things. You already have the covenant. You also have skill. Now, with this answer, you must have the strength that brings you happiness. You must possess happiness, the answer, and assurance. You must have assurance in all areas. You must be able to gain strength as you hold onto the covenant and do concentrated prayer. If you cannot enjoy these things, even with everything else, even with strength, you cannot do anything. Enjoying prayer is what David did the best. David confessed, ?The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not be in want.? He said, ?The Lord is my fortress, my sword, and my shield.? David spoke this way because he was a soldier. Later, he said, ?The Lord is my king.? Why did he say that? It was because he had become the king. In the past, he said, ?The Lord is my shepherd.? He said this because at that time, he was a shepherd. Whether you are in the military or out in the world, if you don?t have the strength of prayer, you don?t have any strength at all. Because this power accumulated, even when problems came, he wasn?t shaken; he wasn?t afraid.

2. David experienced the time schedule of standing as a witness
The Israelites once again faced hardship. The Philistines who used to attack and invade the nation covertly finally came in officially and made a proclamation. Goliath stated that he wanted to fight one man from among the ranks of the Israelites. They even gave the Israelites some time to choose the man to fight Goliath. However, as you well know, there was no one who was able to fight Goliath; no one had the confidence to fight. It was at this time that David came to run errands. That was when he heard Goliath defying the Lord. King Saul was so frightened that he promised the man who defeated Goliath half his possessions, his daughter?s hand in marriage, and exemption from paying taxes. For 40 days, Goliath hurled insults at the Israelites, but no one stepped out. Each of them knew that if they lost their lives in the process, no reward could be great enough. It was then, in 1 Samuel 17:29, David says that he has a reason. David said that he would go and fight, and because the centurion did not know what to do, he took him to the king. The king states, ?But he has been a fighting man since his youth. How can you fight against him?? It is then that David makes his second confession in 1 Samuel 17:33~37: ?The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.? Then, in 1 Samuel 17:39~40, it says that Saul dressed David in his own tunic and put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. However, the clothing did not fit. Then, it says that David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. Then, David said, ?I cannot go in these because I am not used to them.? So, he took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd?s bag, and with his sling in his hand, approached Goliath. He went in his shepherd?s attire. Then, in 1 Samuel 17:45, David goes before Goliath. Goliath is taken aback because none of the soldiers or generals came before him, but here was this young child. Goliath asks, ?Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks?? Then, David states, ?You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I?ll strike you down and cut off your head. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord?s and He will give all of you into our hands.? Then, as he was running, he slung it and struck Goliath on the forehead. David then cut off his head and carried it to the king. At that time, Saul states, ?Whose son are you, young man?? 1 Samuel 17:58 records that David answers, ?I am the son of your servant Jesse of Bethlehem.? David stood as a witness.

3. David experiences the time schedule of a disciple
It is from that moment on that David?s time of suffering and persecution comes. It was at that time that David?s time schedule of finding and gathering disciples began. 1 Chronicles 29:10~14 shows David fulfilling the greatest desire that he harbored in his heart, as he prepares to build the temple. Finally, David stands as the king. Then, in 1 Kings 2:1~9, David speaks his final words. He tells Solomon, ?Prove yourself a man, and believe in the Lord God, your Creator.?

Conclusion
Starting now, all of our servicemen and women must help individuals they meet with in the military to personalize this answer. Then, you must help them stand as disciples. This comes out well in Matthew 13:1~58. Then, quietly, like the yeast, carry out the evangelism movement. Then, in a little while, the time schedule of globalization will come. We must go to the ends of the earth, to all peoples, and to all nations. In 250 years, Rome was evangelized. There are two reasons: the Remnants arose, and the military rose up. There are many doors open in the military enough to do world evangelization. Enter into the source of strength of prayer. This is all you need to do. Everything else, you can only understand once the answers come. So, you must enjoy the strength of prayer. I bless you in the name of Jesus that new answers will come, that you may receive new strength, and a new wind will blow in the military.

God, we thank You. We thank You for calling important disciples in the military. We believe that You will bless them as they carry out their ministry in this difficult field. We believe that through Your blessings, they will experience the evidence of standing as witnesses. In Jesus Christ?s name we pray. Amen.
